Summer School on Sociology of Conflict – 2019

The Summer School on Sociology of Conflict will be interesting to participants who wish to expand their knowledge in the field of the conflict theory and understanding the role of conflicts through the use of sociological approaches and methods. Conflict theorists believe that competition is a constant and, at times, overwhelming factor in nearly every human relationship and interaction.

It will be held on the basis of the Department of Political Science and Sociology of the Faculty of Economics and Law of Mogilev State University named after A. A. Kuleshov in Belarus. Sociologists, economists, psychologists and practitioners will be involved in conducting classes.

The Summer School welcomes an international audience (young researchers, undergraduates, students, employees of youth organizations) who would like not only to jointly study problems of conflicts, but also to get acquainted with the history and culture of Belarus.

Working language: German and English

The Summer School will consider a number of issues:

  1. What Is Conflict Theory? What is sociological conflict?
  2. What are the types of conflicts?
  3. What are the causes of conflicts in the society?
  4. How does the conflict theory affect society?
  5. How did social transformations of the last decades affect the social situation of people?

The Summer School – 2019 will consider these and other issues both from theoretical and practical perspectives.
